Karen Pandorf, RN
Karen Pandorf, Public Health Nurse, may be new to East Central, but she has pursued various roles in nursing since earning her B.S.N. in 1996 from Clarkson College of Nursing in Omaha. Karen states that, "My passion for aiding others and agriculture was evident early on, as I actively participated in 4-H, elderly care, and track during my high school years."
Karen initially worked in various roles within rural hospitals, primarily focusing on medical-surgical care, and then took some time away, transitioning to being a stay-at-home mother for her growing family. In 2022, Karen re-entered nursing, joining a nursing home in Stromsburg, Nebraska. However, a back injury prompted her to seek a less physically demanding role, leading her to the East Central District Health Department where she says, "I find immense satisfaction in helping others alongside a wonderful team."
Outside of work, Karen enjoys a variety of hobbies including gardening, farming, quilting, sewing, staying active through workouts, horseback riding, and the creative pursuit of repurposing furniture and antiques. She says, "Living on our farm just outside Shelby brings me immense joy. Above all, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends."
