Reproductive Health Educator

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Build community relationships for the purpose of generating referrals and promoting connections for reproductive health services.
  2. Develop and deliver educational materials for reproductive health to social support agencies, schools and other groups with youth interaction focus.
  3. Facilitate community events to enhance awareness of reproductive health and availability of services.
  4. Complete monthly outreach and funding agency required monitoring and reports.
  5. Manages the day-to-day outreach to targeted populations, presentations to collaborating agencies, and participation in community health events.
  6. Develop collaborative relationships with private health services to establish supportive referral arrangements.
  7. Partner with community social support agencies and provide information to patients and their families.
  8. Communicate with community health care providers to promote family planning health education services.
  9. Document education and outreach activities and create reports as required by the organization or funding sources.
  10. Assist in the development and distribution of outreach materials to targeted community members.
  11. Monitor activities to assure all work plan requirements are met or exceeded for funding sources.
  12. Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work or related field preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated record of HIPAA compliance.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, able to utilize and develop educational power point presentations.
  • Ability to work well with individuals of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and intellectual backgrounds.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • 2 years of experience in the social service field.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital, clinic or physician’s office preferred.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
